Bloom helps companies engage and keep their best employees.

We help companies uncover the cost and cause of turnover. Together, we then implement the right solutions to develop the potential and growth of their business. We have worked with a wide range of companies across many industries: technology, insurance, education and telecommunications, among others.

Our team includes Lisa Edwards, M.S., ACC, President of Bloom Consulting, Inc. and Jack Phillips, Ph.D.

Lisa Edwards, M.S., ACC
President, Bloom Consulting, Inc.

Lisa brings both the entrepreneur’s spirit and the corporate executive’s discipline to Bloom Consulting, Inc. (Bloom). Bloom, which she founded in 2001, is Lisa’s third business. Her expertise in talent engagement and retention is based on more than 20-years of experience in the printing and publishing, media and technology industries.  Edwards has co-authored Measuring ROI in Coaching for New Hire Employee Retention: A Global Media Company published in ROI in Action Casebook (Pfeiffer, 2008) and Managing Talent Retention: An ROI Approach (Pfeiffer, 2009). She is working on her third publication, a research-based approach to personal engagement.

Edwards regularly speaks at conferences and works with audiences across the world covering Asia-Pacific, Europe and North America.  In her consulting work, she has worked with Fortune 500 organizations ranging from technology to heath care to media to the public sector on talent engagement and retention and has shared her message with individuals from around the globe.

Edwards pioneered her talent engagement method in 2001. In her role as head of Talent Management for Corbis, a Bill Gate's-owned global media company, Edwards is responsible for designing and implementing effective talent development solutions that ensure talent engagement, improve talent retention and serve to feed the talent pipeline.

A former business owner and publishing entrepreneur, Edwards truly understands the business value of talent engagement and retention.  Prior to her work at Corbis, Edwards successfully repositioned her family’s printing firm where she had worked in various positions including: sales and human resources. She effectively created strategic alliances across the world and facilitated the development of the business to a position of stability and growth.

Edwards volunteers on the Cedar Rapids Reports committee, a group of volunteers who lead the re-creation of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, a city impacted by the Flood of 2008, resulting in more than $1 billion in assessed property damage. She is a current board member of the Pacific Northwest Human Resources Strategic Forum and a Past-President of the American Society for Training & Development – Puget Sound Chapter. Edwards is a certified coach from the International Coaching Federation and her formal education includes a bachelor's degree in Psychology from St. Mary's College in Notre Dame, Indiana and a Master of Science degree in Psychology from Southern Methodist University.
