Lisa Edwards, M.S., ACC
President, Bloom Consulting, Inc.
Lisa brings both the
entrepreneur’s spirit and the corporate executive’s discipline
to Bloom Consulting, Inc. (Bloom). Bloom, which she
founded in 2001, is Lisa’s third business. Her expertise
in talent engagement and retention is based on more than
20-years of experience in the printing and publishing, media and
technology industries. Edwards has co-authored
Measuring ROI in Coaching for New Hire Employee Retention: A
Global Media Company published in
ROI in Action Casebook (Pfeiffer, 2008) and
Managing Talent Retention: An ROI Approach
(Pfeiffer, 2009). She is working on her third publication, a
research-based approach to personal engagement.
Edwards regularly speaks at conferences and
works with audiences across the world covering Asia-Pacific,
Europe and North America. In her consulting work,
she has worked with Fortune 500
organizations ranging from technology to heath care to media
to the public sector on talent engagement and
retention and has shared her message with individuals from
around the globe.
Edwards pioneered her
talent engagement method in 2001. In her role as head of
Talent Management for Corbis, a Bill Gate's-owned global
media company, Edwards is responsible for designing and
implementing effective talent development solutions that
ensure talent engagement, improve talent retention and serve
to feed the talent pipeline.
A former business owner and publishing
entrepreneur, Edwards truly understands the business value of
talent engagement and retention. Prior to her work at
Corbis, Edwards successfully repositioned her family’s
printing firm where she had worked in various positions
including: sales and human resources. She
effectively created strategic
alliances across the world and facilitated the
development of the business to a position of stability and
growth.
Edwards volunteers on the Cedar Rapids
Reports committee, a group of volunteers who lead the
re-creation of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, a city impacted by the
Flood of 2008, resulting in more than $1 billion in assessed
property damage. She is a current board member of the Pacific
Northwest Human Resources Strategic Forum and a Past-President
of the American Society for Training & Development – Puget
Sound Chapter. Edwards is a certified
coach from the International Coaching Federation and
her formal education includes a
bachelor's degree in Psychology from St. Mary's
College in Notre Dame, Indiana and a
Master of Science degree in Psychology from Southern
Methodist University.

Jack Phillips, Ph.D.
As a world-renowned
expert on accountability, measurement and evaluation, Dr. Jack J. Phillips is a
Senior Consultant with Bloom and chairman of the ROI Institute.
Through the Institute, Phillips provides consulting services for
Fortune 500 companies and workshops for major conference
providers throughout the world. Phillips is also the
author or editor of more than 50 books and more than 100
articles.
His expertise in
measurement and evaluation is based on more than 27 years of
corporate experience in five industries (aerospace, textiles,
metals, construction materials, and banking). Phillips
has served as training and development manager at two Fortune
500 firms, senior HR officer at two firms, president of a
regional federal savings bank, and management professor at a
major state university.
This background led
Phillips to develop the ROI Methodology—a revolutionary process that provides
bottom-line figures and accountability for all types of
learning, performance improvement, human resources, technology
and public policy programs.
Phillips and his wife, Dr. Patti P.
Phillips, recently served as authors and series editors for the
Measurement and Evaluation Series published by Pfeiffer
(2008), which includes a six-book series on the ROI Methodology
and a companion book of 14 best-practice case studies. Other
books recently authored by Phillips include ROI

Dr.
Phillips has undergraduate degrees in
electrical engineering, physics, and mathematics;
a master’s degree in Decision Sciences from Georgia
State University; and a Ph.D. in Human Resource
Management from the University of Alabama. He has served on the
boards of several private businesses—including two NASDAQ
companies—and several nonprofits and associations, including the
American Society for Training and Development and the National
Management Association.
